Rhamnopyranoside disaccharides I (R = Me, H, CH2OH) were prepd. by glycosylation of Me 3,4-di-O-benzoyl-a-L-rhamnopyranoside with 2,3,4-tri-O-benzoyl-a-L-rhamnopyranosyl bromide, 2,3,4-tri-O-benzoyl-a-L-lyxopyranosyl bromide or 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-benzoyl-a-L-mannopyranosyl bromide in PhMe-MeNO2 in the presence of Ag triflate and mol. sieve 4.ANG., followed by debenzoylation to the products with NaOMe-MeOH.
